Condolence & Memory Journal

He was my uncle and I loved being around him. He did the high five game with me.

Candle

Carol, Brandon, and Brett,

Jon was a man od many talents and certainly was an outstanding educator and a blessing to the Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School System. I was a school board member during much of the time that he was in the Bluffton system. He was innovative and helped teachers reach their fullest potential. His standards were high and that was such an admirable quality!

He was such a kind man. It was obvious that he loved all of you so much. I so enjoyed interacting with him. I admired him greatly. I am so sorry for your loss. He left us far too soon!

He was my 1st grade and 4th grade teacher, my National Honors Society favorite teacher, the man who gave me my job and my first boss at Bluffton Middle School. I was a weird and sometimes challenging kid, but he always got me. He encouraged my art by giving me extra art projects and more time to work on projects that required art. He gave me interesting things to do when I would get bored and start acting out. He let me work outside, laying in the grass. He took us all outside to play the tree game or pretend to be animals when we were learning about science and biology. He taught us all about outer space by bringing in NASA stuff and planetariums. I met some of my best friends in his class-friends I still have today. Because of him I became a teacher, and today I am an artist. He always believed in me, saw my potential and encouraged me to do what I was truly capable of doing. He will never be forgotten.
Lots of love and prayers to his wife and boys. ❤

So sorry for your loss. I will always remember the good times we had in high school and a few years after. He will always have a special place in my heart. I will always remember his sense of humor and respect for other people. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Just found out my 1st grade and 4th grade teacher, my National Honors Society favorite teacher, the man who gave me my job and my first boss at Bluffton Middle School-
Jon Bennet-passed away. You will never be forgotten, Mr. Bennet.
Lots of love and prayers to his wife and boys. ❤

So very sorry for your loss. Mr. Bennett was a wonderful man. I have many fond memories of him when I was a cadet teacher in his class at Bluffton in 1984. May you feel the strong arms of our Heavenly Father during this time.

Dear Carol, Brandon, and Brett, I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jon. I wasn't aware that he had been ill. You have my deepest sympathy, and please know that I am praying for all of you during this difficult time. Boys, your Dad was extremely proud of both of you!! Jon hired me for my first teaching job, and I will always be grateful to him for that!

Jon you always made me smile every time I would talk to you. We had so much fun together thru our high school years and beyond. And then our kids went to school together. You have always been such a positive person and love helping others, especially the kids when you worked in the schools. You are at peace now, my friend, and we will have to struggle with your passing, but know you will make us all smile and giggle with the memories we will have forever. Tell Decker I said Hi :) :) Rest in Peace and prayers to your family
