Connie and Jimmy - I am so sorry to learn of Al's passing. He was a good neighbor and I always enjoyed listening to his interesting stories - especially those about Antarctica. I will be praying for you and your family.

It was with deep sorrow when I was informed of the passing of Al. We had a long standing, over sixty plus years, of shipmate comradery and family friendship. There were a few periods of extended separation due to duty assignments. These vacant periods were soon filled in during our reunion and a few adult beverages. Al will be remembered as a Seabee's SEABEE by friends and shipmates he served with. Ever ready to extend that third hand when needed. Remembering back over those many years, when together, there was never a dull moment. As he will be missed by his family and others, he will also be by the Mississippi Stroup family. Our deepest condolences to Connie, Jimmie and their extended families.
