I am so saddened at the loss of this wonderful man. He was first my sister's neighbor when she moved in next to him in the 80's, and then ours when my husband and I bought and moved into my sister's house. He was a mentor to her children and then ours. A grandfather to our 3 son's, whose biological grandfathers both passed when the boys were very young.
Lou was always kind and patient, always taking them along to The Farm. He was a listening ear when they needed it and made any venture exciting. Lou loved wildlife and became guardian to a squirrel we raised from an orphan. Lou built a special house for Jimmy right on the front porch and enjoyed watching Jimmy play around in the trees and yard.
My boys learned so much about fishing, building, motors and LIFE from Lou, he will be greatly missed.

What a wonderful man. He treated everyone the same at Ben Guyer junior high.
