Tribute & Message From The Family

Roger K. Gorsuch, 81, courageously passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at OSU's Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, due to surgical complications. Roger was born in Churubusco, Indiana. After serving in the Navy Reserves and beginning his career as a GE apprentice, he received an Associate's degree in Business Management. He was a supervisor at Plant Instrument for 10+ years. Roger retired in 2002 after 48 years in management from Lincoln Foodservice Products, Inc. He was also granted a patent for an invention in 1987. Roger was a Founding and Charter Member of Covenant UMC. He enjoyed a very full and active life of camping; canoeing; country-western dancing; and traveling to many wonderful places, while also enjoying being a wonderful father and grandfather. Roger carved a special place in many hearts with his jokester personality and warm, friendly smile. For those who knew him well, he was a strong "negotiator" and "fix-it mastermind." He will be missed by the many lifelong friends and will leave an irreparable hole in his family's hearts. Roger is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Platt) of 58 years, a brother Don Gorsuch (Mariann) of Austin, TX; 4 daughters: Pam Davenport (Mike) of Fort Wayne, IN; Cheryl Meyers (Jeff Kolkman) of Spencerville, IN; Kim Proxmire (Bill) of Dublin, OH; Kelly Gorsuch of Fort Wayne, IN; 4 grandchildren: Jason Fields of Elizabeth City, NC; Jenna Rigsby (Fields) of Indianapolis, IN; Gabriella and Mason Proxmire of Dublin, OH; 2 great grandchildren Paisley and Mackenzie, and several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva and Dean Gorsuch of Churubusco, IN.
