Gerig family, Thank You so much for continually sharing your dad and grandfather with thousands of students. I was also privileged to have him be my pastor. His true example of a Christ follower is one I will never forget. Love in Christ Carol Goldsmith

My fondest memories of Dr. Wes are not of the grades that I earned in his courses, but of the four and a half years I played in the 'Bible College Band'. His God given musical talent still inspires me today. I cannot listen to Leroy Anderson's 'Sleigh Ride' or 'Bugler's Holiday' without thinking of Dr. Wes. My prayers are for comfort to surround and fill his family and all who mourn the loss of this Godly man.

To the children and relatives of Dr. Wes, I wanted to express my condolences that he is now gone from this life, but my happiness that he is united forever with Mary Carolyn and his parents. And that we all, of faith, will see him again in our reunion at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. His was a consequential life for God and his legacy will continue for a long time in the lives he impacted for Christ.

Dr. Wes was such an engaging, solid Bible teacher. The truths that he taught me still come to mind and continue to point me to Christ. He was a remarkable man of God, and I'm grateful I was a student under his teaching.

It has been wonderful for me as I've visited Wes these past few years. His love for our Lord Jesus and his devotion to study and sharing the Word were a great example to me. Even when his memory began to falter towards the end, his recall of scripture was as clear as ever. I will miss him and his kind heart.

I was privileged to be on staff when Dr. Wes served an interim pastorate at First Missionary Church in Berne over 40 years ago. Wonderful memories of his excellent teaching/preaching that was so inspiring, challenging and easy to follow. Loved his sermon outlines and his excellence in "trumpeteering" as well. Truly a great model of devotion to Christ and being used to build the Kingdom.

I was a student at Fort Wayne Bible College where Dr. Wes Gerig taught my theology and Bible courses. He and his family made me feel accepted. Blessings to the family!

Dr. Wes, as he was affectionately known, was my Bible & theology professor at Fort Wayne Bible College and my pastor for many years at Harvester Missionary Church.
Most importantly, however, he was a great friend. We were privileged to have Dr. Wes dedicate our three children to the Lord. In spite of an always more-than-full schedule, Dr. Wes always made time for me which was especially important as a brand-new Christian with a million questions when I started at FWBC.
